Greetings,
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself, especially to those who are new to the Cocalico School District. My name is Officer Eric Fisher, and I proudly serve as a sworn Police Officer with the East Cocalico Township Police Department. I have been with the department since October 2005.
Before joining law enforcement, I spent several years as a General Manager for a small mattress company, overseeing sales operations. During that time, I earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration and Biblical Studies from Cairn University in 2002. In 2005, I graduated from the Montgomery County Municipal Police Academy and joined the East Cocalico Township Police Department later that year.
Throughout my time in law enforcement, I’ve served in a variety of roles, including:
- Member of the Lancaster County DUI Task Force
- Member of the South-Central Task Force Mobile Field Force
- Bike Patrol Officer
- Field Training Officer
- Liaison Officer for the Youth Aid Panel
In January 2019, I was honored to become the School Resource Officer (SRO) for the Cocalico School District—a role in which I take great pride.
On a personal note, I’m married with four children, a dog, and a couple of snakes. I enjoy hiking, biking, paddleboarding, kayaking, and spending time outdoors.
My mission as your School Resource Officer is simple yet powerful: To Raise, Lead, and Empower a Generation to Change their World.
If you, as a parent or guardian, encounter any issue that may affect your child’s well-being, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Whether your child is struggling with attendance, mental health, substance use, or your family is facing challenges such as lack of food, water, clothing, bedding, or school supplies—we have access to resources that can help. Early support makes all the difference, and I am here to assist however I can.
I look forward to engaging with students and helping ensure a safe, positive learning environment for all. As we begin this school year, I am excited to support you and your child(ren) and to provide education and guidance related to safety, well-being, and law enforcement. As your SRO, I am committed to:
- Maintaining a visible and approachable presence within the school community
- Participating in school functions and activities
- Building positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Engaging with students in the classroom
- Serving as a positive role model and promoting the values of law enforcement
- Collaborating with staff to foster a secure and welcoming environment
- Supporting emergency preparedness and response training for faculty
At Cocalico, we recognize that every student is unique, and we are dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and productive space for all learners. We value working in partnership with parents to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Please feel free to contact me at any time with concerns or questions. My office is located in Cocalico High School, or you can reach me via email. Let’s work together to make this an outstanding and successful school year—for everyone.
Thank you, and I look forward to connecting with you soon.
Warm regards,
Officer Eric Fisher, School Resource Officer
