ARP - ESSER Grant

Cocalico’s 3 year proposed plan for use of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief grant breaks down into two main areas:

20% Requirement for Academic Recovery:
• Provide After School Tutoring and supplies
• Maintaining a Home School Visitor on staff

80% Use of Remaining Funds:
• Additional  First Grade Teacher (2021-22)/Third Grade Teacher (2022-23)
• Additional Fifth Grade Teacher (2021-22)/Third Grade Teacher (2022-23)
• Additional Kindergarten/ Special Education Teacher (2021-22)/Itinerant Autistic Support Teacher (2022-23)
• Contracting with the IU for School Psychologist services (2021-22)/Hiring of Additional School Psychologist (2022-23)
• Offering bussing for some Extended Learning opportunities
• Maintaining two ESL Teachers on staff
• New Elementary Math Implementation Coach



ARP - ESSER 7% Set Aside Programs Grant

Cocalico’s 3 year proposed plan for use of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief - 7% Set Aside Programs Grant breaks down into the following three areas:

Comprehensive Learning Loss:
30% Requirement to Address the Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs of Students:  Pay a portion of the Student Assistance Program (SAP) contract for the 2022-2023 school year
10% Requirement to Provide Professional Development to Staff to Address the Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs of Students:  Pay for summer in-service days and training for staff related to the Student Assistance Program (SAP), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training, Responsive Classrooms, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and other summer days related to the above topics (Summer of 2022 and 2023)
8% Requirement to Address Reading Remediation and Improvement for Students:  Pay for a portion of the contract for the Language Live program, which is used with middle school students with IEPs (2022-2023 school year)
52% of the Funds Used to Address Learning Loss:  Secure additional substitute coverage to ensure we can maintain quality, in-person instruction when the assigned teacher is absent (November 30, 2021 - last day of school in June 2022)*

After School Tutoring:
Middle School After School Sessions:  Pay for tutoring, supplies, and transportation (2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years)*
Elementary Science Explorers:  Sponsor students representing various subgroups to attend the elementary program (2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years)*

Summer School Enrichment:
High School Credit Recovery Program (Summer of 2022 and 2023)
ESL 4-week Summer Camp:  Pay for tutoring and books for students (Summer of 2022 and 2023)*
High School Tutoring Program (Summer of 2022 and 2023)
Middle School Tutoring Program (Summer of 2022 and 2023)
Online Elementary Tutoring Program  for Incoming 1st through 5th Graders (Summer of 2022 and 2023)*
