Monitoring Dashboard

The Cocalico School District is tracking the number of students and staff who have tested positive for COVID-19. Data reported on this dashboard is based on confirmed cases in which the individuals were physically present in the school setting during the infectious period (48 hours prior to the onset of symptoms) for instruction, work, sports, or extracurricular activities.

Confirmed Cases in 14-day Window - This number represents the number of new positive cases in a building over the past 14 days.

On August 23, 2021 the Cocalico School Board approved pandemic-related, temporary shifts to remote learning just in case that should become a necessity. Current guidance from the DOH for shifts to remote learning is based on the following:

  1. 5% of students/staff confirmed cases in 14-day window:
    • Small school (<500 staff & students): 25 case threshold
    • Medium school (500-900 staff & students): 25-45 case threshold
    • Large school (900+ staff & students): 45+ case threshold
  2. Three simultaneous classroom and/or core group outbreaks

As a reminder, staff and students should stay home from school if they are feeling ill. As it relates to COVID-19, the most common symptoms are cough, fever, loss of taste, and shortness of breath. Muscle aches, sore throat, and fatigue are also common. If any one of these symptoms is evident, staff and families should consult with medical providers immediately.
