Water Quality Testing

Water Quality Testing
As you may know, the Cocalico School District periodically tests its water sources to ensure that lead levels do not exceed standards as defined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). According to the EPA, no lead levels in our drinking water should exceed 0.015 parts per billion (ppb) or 0.015 mg/l.

Two years ago, when we voluntarily checked water sources throughout the district, we found no areas of concern. This year, we tested our water sources again as per Act 39 of 2018 (Section 742 of Pennsylvania’s Public School Code). Thus far, we have tested water sources at Denver Elementary School, Cocalico Middle School, Cocalico High School, and Reamstown Elementary School. Adamstown Elementary School is scheduled to be tested later this week.

The results were shared with Cocalico families and staff members via a SchoolMessenger email. For information on what was shared, please click here.
