Health room personnel are responsible for injury and illness occurring in school or on the way to and from school only. The nurse will provide initial evaluation and first aid treatment. Parents will be contacted regarding all significant illness or injury. Recommendations will be made for additional evaluation or treatment. If a student needs to be transported to a medical facility, the parent will be expected to make the necessary arrangements. If the situation is emergent, arrangements will be made with local emergency services for transport via ambulance to the nearest treatment facility (at parent's expense).

Guidelines for return to school following illness or exclusion:

  - Chickenpox - when all lesions are dry and have scabs
  - Lice - morning after treatment with proof of treatment and majority of nits removed. Student must be evaluated by school nurse upon arrival at school.
  - Impetigo - certificate of treatment and recovery
  - Pink Eye - certificate of treatment and recovery
  - Vomitting/Diarrhea - no episodes for 12 hours and able to eat solid food with no return of symptoms.
